Hire A Driver: Cost Questions
How much does it cost to hire a driver per hour?

Dryver drivers start at $39/hour for members and $55/hour for non-members. Membership tiers are Basic ($0/month at $55/hour), Plus ($99/month at $39/hour), and Concierge ($199/month at $39/hour with premium benefits). The same hourly rate applies to hourly drivers, designated drivers, and airport trips — there is no surge pricing on busy nights or holidays.

Is there a minimum number of hours?

Yes — every Dryver booking has a 2-hour minimum, so the smallest possible trip costs $78 at the $39/hour member rate or $110 at the $55/hour non-member rate. Most competing personal driver services charge $54–60/hour with a 3-hour minimum, which puts their entry price at $162–180 for the same night out.

What happens if my trip runs long?

Extra time is billed at the same hourly rate you booked — $39/hour for members, $55/hour for non-members — with no overtime premium and no surge multiplier. Time past the 2-hour minimum is prorated, so a 3.5-hour trip on the member rate costs $136.50 rather than being rounded up to a full fourth hour.

Is gratuity included in the hourly rate?

Gratuity is not automatically added to your fare and is never required. Dryver pricing is fully transparent with no hidden fees: you pay the hourly rate for the hours you book, and pass-through costs such as tolls, parking, or gas are added to the trip fare at cost with no markup. If you would like to tip your driver for great service, you are welcome to.

Is Dryver cheaper than taking two Ubers?

Often, yes — and you keep your car. Two rideshare trips across a metro area on a Saturday night commonly run $40–60 each with surge, so $80–120 round trip, and your vehicle stays parked downtown overnight with parking fees, towing risk, and a trip back for it the next morning. A 2-hour Dryver booking costs $78 at the $39/hour member rate, has no surge pricing, and ends with both you and your car in your own driveway.
